Whitsundays Private Charters is as the name suggests a company providing Private Charters in the Whitsundays. We are locally owned and operated and our Airlie Beach day trips start at Coral Sea Marina, the ideal location to start a power boat tour in the Whitsunday Islands.

Whitsundays Private Charters offer four spectacular tour packages with many opportunities to tailor your own experience. Our tours run between 6:30am and 6:30pm so you control your start and end time. We also provide additional services for those who want to use our vessel for non-tour related activities such as photography or videography.

What makes Whitsundays Private Charters most unique is our luxurious and award winning vessel, the Axopar 37 Sun Top. Axopar is now the fastest growing day boat company and it is no surprise to us. It is not until you experience the comfort of the ride and the practical and spacious social areas that you understand why an Axopar charter is like no other.

Environment & sustainability

At Whitsundays Private Charters we are passionate about the natural environment in the Whitsundays. The Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef marine park are a natural wonderland and we love sharing our unique experiences with our guests. Here’s how we are working towards maintaining and protecting the environment that makes up the wonderful Whitsundays.

 

  • All of our equipment is cleaned using environmentally friendly products.
  • Excess packaging materials are removed prior to departure. This is to avoid any fly away rubbish.
  • Any rubbish produced during our charters is discarded of once the vessels have returned to the marina.
  • All crockery, cutlery and plastics are reusable.
  • We have implemented a ban on all single-use plastic bags and straws.
  • Guests are briefed and educated on snorkeling techniques and reef rules to prevent damage to the reef.
  • Guests are educated on the best practices and care for the reef including reef safe sunscreens.
  • No handling of the marine life by our staff or guests during activities.
  • All island walks through island national parks are guided to ensure guests stay on the designated track.
  • Any rubbish produced by staff and guests while visiting the islands and beaches is taken away with them.
  • All waste is disposed of appropriately and responsibly.

Is snorkeling equipment included?

For all bookings above 4 hours snorkeling equipment is included as standard. Included in the package is;masks, flippers and stinger suits (during stinger season). Please bring your own swimwear, we suggest wetsuits in colder months.

Please specify if you need masks for children so we can ensure we have the right sizes on board.

What if I get sea sick?

Due to the stability, speed and open layout of our Axopar 37 it is very unlikely that you will get seasick.  If you are prone to seasickness it is recommended you take your own precautions and talk to a doctor about the best solution for you.

Where do you depart?

Currently our only location is at Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach. The exact check in location will be sent to you in a confirmation email.

Are there toilets on board?

Yes, the Axopar 37 Sun Top is equipped with a private and spacious toilet.

Can I bring my own lunch?

Yes, you are most welcome to bring along your own lunch and/or snacks for your private charter. Please let your skipper/ crew know if you need to use the fridges and we will see where we can accommodate. Alternatively, we offer many catering options.

Can I bring my own drinks?

At this stage this is on an enquiry only basis.

What if there is bad weather?

The weather in the tropics can be unpredictable we will provide an updated weather report before departure and if rain is getting in the way of the fun we will work with you to come up with an alternative so you are getting the most out of your Whitsunday Private Charters.

What about windy weather?

The perk of Whitsundays Private Charters is that each tour is completely unique. We will use your feedback and our knowledge of the area to scout out the best and most protected bays in the Whitsunday Islands.
